Life can bring challenges that can be difficult to overcome at times. Barriers can stand in the way of moving forward in life. I think we all have strengths that can help us overcome the challenges and break down the barriers that seem to get in the way of progressing in life. I believe there is hope for children, families, couples, and individuals to overcome their adversities. I believe individuals can have healthy and positive relationships. My goal is to provide a safe environment for the client and with guidance to examine the issues that may cause confusion and self-doubt in his or her life. We all need help and counseling can be the first stepping stone to empowerment, to make change, and build on individual strengths. My experience has been working with children and families focusing on strengths, building self-esteem, communication skills, asset building, anger management, and other coping skills. I tend to use Cognitive Behavioral Theory and Solution Focus techniques.
